Enjoying Derby is a new project delivering a programme of guided walks around the City of Derby.
Enjoying Derby is funded by Time to Change. Time to Change is a national campaign which aims to end the discrimination faced by people who experience mental health problems as well as improve the nation’s wellbeing. There will be a national advertising campaign which starts in January 2009 backed by local community projects. For more information or to download a campaign pack to run your own campaign http://www.time-to-change.org.uk/
We are setting up walking programmes across Derby to encourage people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits of walking.
Derbyshire Mind has already secured the interest of some local partners and we are keen to hear from any agency who would like to be part of this new venture.
Each partner organisation will be asked to contribute staff time in promoting, booking and managing the programme. There will be some financial support available to our partners to support their involvement.
Enjoying Derby is now on Flickr. Come and have a look at some of the photographs taken on our walks. www.flickr.com/photos/enjoyingderby
