Independent Specialist Advocate,
based in Chesterfield but required to travel throughout Derbyshire,
£23-25,000, 37 hours per week
Carrying a busy caseload providing one-to-one advocacy support to a range of clients in a variety of settings including care homes and hospitals throughout Derbyshire. IMHA and IMCA are statutory roles defined in the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards therefore a sound understanding of this legislation is required. A commitment to empowering and upholding the rights of people with a wide range of conditions including acute mental health problems, learning disabilities, brain injury and dementia is essential.
A qualification in independent advocacy is desirable although not essential as Derbyshire Mind is willing to support successful candidates to achieve this work based qualification.
