Mental Health Practitioner (Supported Self Help Service)

Hours:           7.5 hours per week (part-time, working day to be agreed)

Salary:          £24,021.9 per annum (pro rata)

Contract:     Fixed term until 30 Sept 2025

Reports to: Lead Mental Health Practitioner

Derbyshire Mind is one of a federated network of local Mind charities across the country.  Our focus is on improving mental health and wellbeing for people across Derbyshire and Derby City.  We provide a range of advocacy and community wellbeing services designed to support people with mental health problems as well as the wider population.  We are committed to developing innovative and responsive services which further promote mental health awareness and wellbeing.

The Role

Are you a highly committed individual wanting to make a difference and support the improvement of mental wellbeing in Derby and Derbyshire?

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to join Derbyshire Mind to deliver Mind’s guided self-help programme, “Supported Self Help”, on a national basis, at a time when the service has never been more needed.

Mind’s Supported Self Help service is designed to meet the needs of individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. The role holder will carry their own caseload of clients and will provide support to them virtually via Teams or over the phone with the option to see local clients face-to-face in Derby, working proactively with individuals to support them via a facilitated self-help approach.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent and experience of providing mental health/wellbeing services to individuals. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic, committed approach, alongside personal resilience.

The role will involve a split of working from home and from our Head Office at the Derby West Business Centre on Ashbourne Road in Mackworth.
