Derbyshire Mind are here to make a positive difference to people’s mental health. We have a clear vision and strategy in place and an enthusiastic and skilled team. Now we need some new trustees to join us to help lead us into the next phase of our development!
We can offer you the opportunity to develop your strategic leadership skills and learn more about how the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector works. In this role you will also be making a significant contribution to the work that Derbyshire Mind does to support the mental health of people in Derby and Derbyshire.
We will provide induction, training and support to help you settle into the role and to feel part of the organisation and wider Mind federation.
We are looking for strategic level leaders who have a strong interest in mental health, are willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board.
We need people who can see the bigger picture, are committed to doing the best for our beneficiaries, and have a high degree of integrity. You will also be able to work in collaborative partnership with the Chief Executive and senior management team.
You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide a full induction and training.
We are also particularly seeking trustees with additional skills and experience in any of the following areas:
- Finance, financial governance and accounting, including a qualification in accountancy
- HR and Leadership
- Mental Health sector, including policy and legislation
- Lived experience of mental health problems
The Role
Role Title: Trustee
Time Commitment: Around 6-10 hours per month on average
Reimbursement: This is an unpaid role. Derbyshire Mind will pay reasonable out of pocket expenses, including travel expenses within the county of Derbyshire.
Role: This is a voluntary role.
We will provide induction, training and support to help you settle into the role and to feel part of the organisation and wider Mind federation.
Derbyshire Mind is a local independent charity within the national Mind federation, with over 50 years’ experience of supporting people in Derby and Derbyshire to maintain good mental health. We provide a range of advocacy and mental health and wellbeing services designed to support people with mental health problems as well as the wider population.
